Born in New York City and raised near Washington D.C., Dena received her BS in Accounting from Syracuse University. After early careers in banking and public accounting, Dena pivoted to IT entrepreneurship for 25+ years. But Dena's consistent love of creativity led her to transition away from the tech sphere toward Rafte Photography.

 

Her son was her initial inspiration to pick up a camera -- capturing life’s memories through the Nikon lens. Others began to ask Dena to do the same for them, and photography developed into a deep passion with each new ask. Eventually, Dena sold her IT company to pursue photography full-time.

Dena aims to capture the authenticity and beauty of life’s twists and turns. She creates a relationship with her clients and documents their lives.  She connects with clients in a way that allows her to see and portray one's uniqueness in each and every photograph.
